History of the EMW Club

Elma, Marilla, and Wales... three towns served by Boys and Girls Clubs!

The Club was chartered in 1974.  It originally operated out of a 2,200 square foot area in the basement of the Iroquois Middle School.  The first executive director was George Roberts.

In 1996, the Board decided a new site was necessary, and in 1997 the drive started to to raise $1.2 million to build a new facility on Girdle Road across from the Iroquois School District main campus.  The campaign was very successful and raised $1.3 million.  The new facility of 13,000 square feet opened in September 2000 allowing the organization to serve nearly twice as many as previously served.

Daily average attendance is currently about 160 members.
